Online Music Lesson during this pandemic!

If you are still not confident in online music lessons, here is a real life example of a successful story of how 2 boys in the UK manage to get outstanding results in the recent ABRSM piano recording examination.

We had the privilege of having first hand experience on how to face this new ABRSM examination format during this pandemic. We have shared these knowledge and skills to all our very qualified A-team teachers on how to help students do well in this new exam.

For parents who are not aware of the latest changed in the ABRSM exam format. Students have to recording video of themselves playing the piano and submit the video via online. There are many new rules for example the need for a witness  and self introduction to the piano pieces they are playing. Many parents and students are fearful because there are many unknown factors and uncertainties.

Our UK students have already gone through their exam last month and their results was release just two weeks after video submission. Students not longer need to wait for few months to get the results like previous exam format. This means that students can progress to high grades even faster and more efficient.

Teacher Meiyee had took up this immense challenge to coach Kai Shan and Kai Tian via online teaching since March this year. Week by week they practice and polish their exam pieces until the final exam day. There were many voice messages and corrections via photos and video and with very supportive parents who really contribute to the success of each online lesson. No doubt parents have to monitor and give their full support for this to work. It's indeed a team work!

There are so much to share regrading online teaching but the first step is to embrace the idea and break the conservative thinking of taboos. Some parents are still having the concept that online learning is a waste of time, but in reality it works if all the parameters are well adjusted and everyone must be motivated to succeed.

This pandemic is not going to bring us down, we are going to win this together. COVID-19 has brought many things to stop, but we believe that learning shouldn't be stopped.

If parents really encourage their children to learn well be it physical classes or online classes, this will set a very good example for them to give their best in whatever they are doing in life. They won't give up or find excuses to stop when they face any obstacles in life in the future. This is not just about music but can be applied in every aspect of life. This is part of the training for them as they grow up.

As the saying goes, when an obstacle arises, you change your direction to reach your goals, you don't change your decision to get there. That's the spirit of learning and winning in life.

During this PKPB, AIM Music Academy have fully converted all physical classes to our online platform in hopes that we can all help to curb this virus together.

We will win this war against COVID and rise up better than before. Just imagine if all learning stops, our children will have forgotten everything after the war is over and we have to spend more time and effort rebuilding what we have loss. Let's not let that happen. Let's keep the momentum of learning and move on.

AIM for a better tomorrow. Stay safe!
